Chasing the Light

Top: Zara
Black Pants: Forever New
Sling Bag: Accessorize
Golden Neckpiece: Vero Moda
Rings: Thrifted

I have been lusting after these high-waist black pants since ages and finally when Forever New had a Christmas weekend sale, I managed to buy them! Its classy, chic, comfortable- everything I could ask for. I had initially planned on teaming it up with a white or cream ganji, but then opted for this top instead to add color to the attire.
My favourite item out of everything I've worn here? It has to be that Neckpiece. It was a gift from a friend and ever since I've got it, I can't seem to stop wearing it. Sometimes, i even try to make it work on a basic tee and jeans(which doesn't work all that well :P). But yeah, its one of the best pieces of jewelry I've owned in a long long time.

Hope you enjoyed the post :)

Love,
Malavika :) :)

Puppy Love

This is one of the prettiest dresses I own. Its light pink and flowy and one of the most treasured items in my closet.
The only accessories I've used here are white pearl necklaces of varying lengths, which only enhance the feminine look of the whole attire.

...For a day when all you want to do is laze around in the backyard, sit by the window reading a novel and stroll around with not a single worry in your mind :)

Pink Hearts Yellow Moons

Hello Everyone :)

The schoolgirl look has been one of those looks I've always wanted to try but was very apprehensive about. But when I did get to finally donning the look, I realized it wasn't that hard a task at all! I kept the look extremely simple with minimal accessories and pink lip gloss. In my opinion, that one element which works extremely well in the look are the shoes & sock combination, which make it a pretty interesting as well as different look for the winter which will be arriving pretty soon.
So if you're one of those who think that winter fashion is extremely boring with only over-sized sweaters and pants as options, you might just want to keep your eyes open for those interesting elements you can experiment with during the coming season :)

P.S. The shoes ended up getting a little dirty on my walk to the location, which included jumping over a fence and balancing my way through a really rough patch of rocks.

That Lethal Combination.

Hello Everybody :)

On a completely random note, one of the questions i get asked the most is 'You have so many outfits! How often do you shop?!'. Let me tell you, funnily I don't shop all THAT often(My mother might disagree on this, but this is my take on the matter :P). I do go street shopping at least once every month, hunting on the streets of Colaba Causeway or Hill road,Bandra for little curios and cute funky ornaments, as these places seem to be a treasure trove of such items! The reason for me having such a mass accumulation of clothes is because its a collection of all that I've been buying and responsibly preserving(again, mom might disagree on this one) since about the past few years :)

Now coming back to the post, we've all heard tremendously about what a classic combination the colours Black and White make, what we don't hear about all that often though is how gorgeous the above mentioned combination looks with a hint of the colour grey in the scene.
These are some random pictures from over the internet, but i couldn't help but notice how gorgeous they look!

Lots of Love,

Malavika :)

A statement Neckpiece.

Its surprising as to how a single piece of accessory can give a complete makeover to a particular look. They're capable of jazzing up a simple outfit and can make a plain dress look chic and elegant.

Coming up soon: An outfit post with this neckpiece :)

Kaftan.

Kaftan: Colaba Causeway
Turquoise Ring: Manali, Himachal Pradesh
Earrings: Manali, Himachal Pradesh
Bag: Pondicherry

There were two reasons i picked up this Kaftan:

a.I love how comfortable a kaftan is.
       b. I LOVE LOVE LOVE turquoise blue!

A Kaftan is an item which is extremely versatile. You can wear it with a pair of leggings to college or you can wear it all by itself to a beach or a casual outing with friends. If you're wondering where you can get your hands on one in Mumbai, the stalls in Colaba Causeway and Hill road have super trendy ones with funky and colourful patterns, available for an super reasonable rate :)

Also, I've been waiting to do a post with the Jewelry I picked up from Himachal whilst on a nature club trip! Himachal, especially Manali is known for its silver jewelry and semi precious stones. I had to use every ounce of my will power to pull myself away from the shops and boutiques there!
As mentioned above, the earrings and the ring both are from a boutique in Manali :) :)
Hope you enjoy the post.

Bejeweled

Of late, I've been having a huge thing for pastel shades! And even more for the combination of pastel shades with beautiful, elegant jewelry pieces with intricate work and designs.

The outfit I put together here is extremely simple and casual, and the only thing fancy about the attire are the accessories used..
